currently seeking a Product Line Specialist to manage the lines of motorcycle
parts and accessories through the all channels of sale while working with the
Purchasing Department to resolve supplier issues. As the Product Line Specialist at our
headquarters in Anamosa, IA you will be responsible for:
* Managing the product lines of motorcycle parts and accessories through
all channels of sale
* Working with the catalog, marketing, and
e-commerce departments for layout, design, and placement of product in
catalogs, direct mail pieces, website presentations, and E-Commerce
* Contacting vendors to review product lines and their performance in
order to make recommendation for changes
* Working with merchandisers to develop strategy for promotion of
new product, excessive inventory, and obsolete inventory
* Identifying partnering opportunities for co-op
advertising or promotions of product lines
* Helping with training classes for sales, customer service, and
technical support staff to improve product knowledge
* Reviewing product line pricing to insure that our pricing is in
line with market
* Attending trade shows, and major motorcycle events to keep
informed on current trends, along with reading periodicals, catalogs and other
* Reviewing market research material to anticipate competition and
market trends while translating consumer attitudes for new and current products
* Assisting in the planning and coordination of new product launch
* Helping coordinate and develops marketing, sales, and financial
plans for product line
* Working within the content management system’s framework
To perform this job successfully, an individual
must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Previous experience in sourcing or purchasing
motorcycle parts and accessories for resale is necessary for this position.
Experience in merchandising products through the channels of catalog and/or
e-commerce is preferred. Candidates must have strong MS Excel skills and be
able to communicate effectively. Strong
knowledge of motorcycles is necessary.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government
regulations. Ability to write reports,
business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from
groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as
frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity,
analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and
draw valid conclusions. Ability to
interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or
diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
